Eggfood is the name commonly given to a supplemented crumb-like food which bird keepers have traditionally fed to their birds alongside suitable seed mixtures. Quantities given usually increase markedly during the breeding season.

Young chicks are very dependent on the feed from their parents (or you if you are handrearing!) and the quality of the food is very important.  Feast Eggfoods are great for increasing the protein and vitamin/mineral content of the seed diet for better breeding results. They are also a really great food for adding other supplements to, as dry seed is not good for this role since most birds husk their seed meaning they would then not actually eat the supplements you might have thoughtfully added. Feast Eggfoods can also be mixed in with chopped fruits and vegetables for parrot species.

Feast is the first ever soft food to contain a prebiotic. Prebiotics are natural substances that help create a good environment for the friendly bacteria and, at the same time, make it a less attractive place for nasty germs like protozoa and disease causing bacteria. As well as this, Feast also contains natural immunomodulators that maximise the effect of the bird's natural immune system all of which combine to help reduce the risk of young chicks succumbing to disease. Feast has a 16% protein level and contains a comprehensive range of vitamins, minerals and amino acids.

Feast Eggfoods:

  • Very tasty, so your birds will love it.
  • Contains powerful anti-coccidial herbs to prevent going light in young finches and canaries.
  • Contains prebiotic herbs to boost the digestive and immune functions.
  • Enriched with vitamins, minerals, amino acids and protein.

Just take a look at what our customers are reporting:

"As a breeder of rare and endangered parrots, quality not quantity was my priority.  I believe your products have been instrumental in my continued consistent breeding successes over the years.  Products I particularly value include Parrot Feast Fruit and Calcivet."

I’ve used this product for the first time this year and have found that my birds have had high levels of fertility and have successfully reared their chicks. When they have young they are waiting for me to give them the feast. Birds bred- Painted Finches and other Australian Finches.

    Very good

I have used feast for years as a vehicle to give my birds calcium and vitamin supplements. I am also pleased that it contains various herbs and amino acids which they otherwise wouldn’t get & are beneficial to them. I don’t use it as the crumbly consistency suggested or mixed with diced fruit as I find a lot gets wasted this way and it’s hit and miss as to whether they eat the vits/calcium. Instead, I mix it with the powders in a pot then add cooled boiled water and allow it to swell until it is a play dough like consistency. Then it is easy to cut little lumps out appropriate to the size of each bird and distribute . I find they prefer to pick it up and eat it in a lump. I use this method for all my birds - sun conures up to macaw size. I normally use the parrot fruit kind but they like both flavours.

    Feast egg food - fruit

Posted by Chris Bower on 27th Mar 2020

I love the smell of this food when I am mixing it. My birds like it slightly moistened and I also add cooked rice, peas, sweetcorn and scrambled egg. Needless to say when I walk in the aviary the birds all come to greet me.
